Lauren Hutton Does It Better
Lauren Hutton, one of the first "supermodels," returned to modeling at age 46. When she was unable to find cosmetics formulated for the needs of women in her age group, she decided to create her own with the help of top makeup professionals. The result is a collection of makeup that really works well on women over 40.
I like her face disc, shown here, for two reasons. The first - it provides you with most everything you need in one convenient, thin, mirrored compact. So, for smoothing lips, accenting cheekbones, hiding a double chin, outlining your eyes, covering discolorations, concealing dark circles, fine lines and flaws you're good to go. All the little makeup holders contained in the compact are replaceable when you run out. Because you don't have to buy a whole new face disc every time, it saves you money.
The second reason I like these products is Lauren has taken out all the mica (that's the glittery stuff you find in other makeups). Mica might look good on more youthful skin, but for mature skin it's a disaster. Without mica, the makeup goes on smoothly and doesn't get stuck in flaws you don't want to accentuate. The disc comes in 4 different color palates, so you can choose one that best matches your skin tone.
I particularly like her transparent concealer. It's light and it's bright, so while it conceals it also highlights. You never look made up, it's very natural looking.
If you decide to try this makeup get it home and just play with all the goodies in the disc until you find just the right look. The video will really help while you're starting out. Just have fun.
I know this might sound like a paid advertisement for Lauren Hutton, but I'm only telling you about it because it works so well for me. I always get compliments on my make up, and I think her products really do make me look younger. Try it and see what you think.
Lauren also designed a full set of applicator brushes that are color keyed to each makeup to help you get the best results. The disc also comes with an instructional video. This is very helpful because it shows Lauren starting out with a naked face before she applies the products. Then, while she is applying she teaches us her terrific little makeup tricks.

I have purchased a lot of her makeup and it's really nice, however, if you read the ingredient list you will see that contrary to what is said, the second ingredient in her powdered makeup is in fact Mica. That confused me somewhat and I called her cust. service line and inquired about it and they told it has minimal amounts, however, it is listed as the second ingredient. Not sure what to make of that. I do love her though, she's awesome!
